Basketball Game Preview: Rye Thunderbolts vs. James Irwin Jaguars

The Rye Thunderbolts will take on the James Irwin Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Rye and three for James Irwin.

Rye lost 53-27 to Buena Vista on Friday.

Meanwhile, James Irwin didn't have quite enough to beat Banning Lewis Academy on Saturday and fell 24-21.

Rye's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for James Irwin, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Rye didn't have too much breathing room in their match against James Irwin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 37-33 victory. Will Rye repeat their success, or does James Irwin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
