Baseball Recap: Mandeville's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mandeville waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Lakeshore. For the Skippers, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 victory Lakeshore walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Logan McNamara spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Mandeville's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brody Hatchett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Mandeville pushed their record up to 9-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Lakeshore, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mandeville will square off against Loranger at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Loranger's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Mandeville's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lakeshore, they will face off against Pope John Paul II at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
