Monroe Central waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 42-38 W against the Warren Warriors.

Warren lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sarah Pettey, who posted seven points along with seven boards and six steals. Warren is 3-1 when Pettey posts three or more steals, but 6-9 otherwise. Mackenzie James-McGuire was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Monroe Central's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Warren, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Coming up, Monroe Central will square off against Ridgewood at 1:00 p.m. on February 15th. As for Warren, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 42-37 loss against Alexander on the 8th.
