Football Recap: Skyline Piles Up the Points Against Cottonwood

Skyline waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Cottonwood Colts 62-17. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Colts, too.

It was another big night for Xavier Cocci, who threw for 235 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 52 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries. Maximus Cocci was in the mix too, providing Skyline with two touchdowns.

Skyline didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jonah Mailei and Liam Whitworth. Mailei got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Skyline's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Cottonwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Skyline wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 53-21 win against East on the 3rd. As for Cottonwood, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 39-19 defeat against Jordan on the 3rd.
