Baseball Game Preview: North Hopkins Panthers vs. Bland Tigers

The North Hopkins Panthers will square off against the Bland Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in North Hopkins' favor as the squad sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Bland has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

North Hopkins' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Sulphur Bluff 13-0. Considering the Panthers have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Bland couldn't beat Celeste on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Tigers came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 17-7.

Bland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blaine Hargove, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

North Hopkins has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Bland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Everything went North Hopkins' way against Bland when the teams last played back in February of 2022, as North Hopkins made off with a 10-0 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
