Baseball Recap: Lee-Scott Academy Triumphs

Lee-Scott Academy proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by eight) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Saint James Trojans, sneaking past 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Trojans back in February, they had to take a 4-1 defeat.

Max Hammer looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, Lee-Scott Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Gregory, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Lee-Scott Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. The loss snapped Saint James' winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-4-1 record.

Coming up, Lee-Scott Academy will challenge Marbury at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marbury will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Lee-Scott Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Saint James, they will welcome LAMP at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
