Soccer Recap: Aspire Ollin Takes a Loss

If Aspire Ollin was riding high fresh off their 5-2 takedown of Annenberg last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Aspire Ollin Jaguars lost 8-1 to the Downtown Magnets Suns on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1133rd, while the Suns are ranked 457th).

Aspire Ollin's goal came courtesy of Steven Quiroz, who's now up to 11 this season.

Aspire Ollin dropped their record down to 2-13-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Downtown Magnets, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3-1.

Aspire Ollin will face off against Central City Value at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Downtown Magnets, they will challenge Animo Bunche at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
