Trumbull faced Warde in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles won by a set and slipped past the Mustangs 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in September, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Trumbull wouldn't go down easily and took Warde into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 23-25, 20-25, 15-11.

Trumbull has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Warde, the loss snapped their winning streak at six matches and leaves them with a 18-3 record.

As of now, neither Trumbull nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
