Baseball Game Preview: Northbrook Raiders vs. Jersey Village Falcons

Northbrook is 1-8 against Jersey Village since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Northbrook Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Jersey Village Falcons at 2:00 p.m. Northbrook has given up an average of 12.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Northbrook is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 11-0 to Jersey Village. The game marked the first time this year in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

For Jersey Village's part, not much got past Jack Bielamowicz, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Northbrook off the board. Bielamowicz also tossed a walk, which is notable because Jersey Village is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jersey Village got a big performance out of Nicolas Gomez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That stolen base was Gomez's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nathan Ultis, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Northbrook's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Jersey Village, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9.
