Baseball Recap: King Comes Up Short at Home Against Ingleside

King unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 15-8 to the Ingleside Mustangs on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Samuel Gomez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Javonni Trevino, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, King was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Coming up, King is taking a road trip to face off against Freer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ingleside, they will square off against Brazos at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
