Baseball Recap: Lewiston-Porter Triumphs

Lewiston-Porter took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Kenmore West, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lancers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Blue Devils 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Lancers: when they faced off against the Blue Devils last Wednesday, they had to take a 10-4 loss.

Michael McIntyre looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Brayden VanEgmond was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one triple. Lewiston-Porter is 3-1 when VanEgmond posts two or more runs, but 1-7 otherwise. Jayden Luchese was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Lewiston-Porter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Kenmore West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Lewiston-Porter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kenmore West, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-5 defeat against Sweet Home on the 19th.
