Softball Recap: McLean County Cougars vs. Trinity Raiders
McLean County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 11-0 walloping at the hands of the Trinity Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to McLean County of the 13-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Friday.
McLean County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shelby Rickard, who went 1-for-2 with a double.
McLean County's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Trinity, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McLean County will take on Hopkinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McLean County is facing Hopkinsville at the right time seeing as Hopkinsville is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Trinity, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grayson County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grayson County is coming into the contest with four straight wins on the road, so Trinity will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
