Volleyball Recap: Lacey Staska Key Part of Team Effort in Rangers Win

North hadn't done well against Solon recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Rangers put the hurt on the Comets with a sharp 3-0 win. The Rangers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 16, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

While North won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 26-24, 25-10.

North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lacey Staska, who had 34 assists. That's the most assists Staska has posted since back in September of 2024. Ava Mitchell was another key player, getting 12 digs and three aces.

North now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Solon, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North will take on Jefferson Area at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Solon, they will face off against Normandy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
