Basketball Recap: Sacred Heart Prep Beats Menlo School for Their Fifth Straight Win

Sacred Heart Prep came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Menlo School Knights by a score of 67-58. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-52 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sacred Heart Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Osterloh, who went 7 of 14 en route to 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Those eight boards gave Osterloh a new career-high. Alex Straser was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points.

Sacred Heart Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Menlo School, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart Prep will challenge King's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. King's Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 games -- so hopefully Sacred Heart Prep likes a good challenge. As for Menlo School, they will square off against Priory at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Priory is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.6 points per game this season.
