While Texas Wind's victory against Westlake Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Texas Wind slipped by Westlake Academy 46-45 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Texas Wind also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Rhys Bonow threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns. Trustin Bonow was his top target, picking up 70 receiving yards. On the ground, Ethan Neubauer rushed for 73 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries.

The win was the third in a row for Texas Wind, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 52.7 points this season. As for Westlake Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Texas Wind will square off against Nazarene Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westlake Academy, they will take on Fort Worth THESA at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blacksmiths will need to watch out since the Riders have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
