Football Recap: Manheim Central Takes a Loss

Manheim Central dropped down to 4-3 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They were outmatched by the Solanco Golden Mules and fell 42-6. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, the Barons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Logan Kappel threw for 93 yards and one touchdown. Cody Hess was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards and one score.

As for Solanco, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.2 points.

Solanco got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kris Burgos-Wise out in front who rushed for 120 yards and a pair of TDs. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 71 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Garcia, who rushed for 71 yards and a pair of scores.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manheim Central will square off against Fleetwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Barons will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Solanco, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cocalico at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant s against one another: Garcia and Dane Horning.
