Football Game Preview: Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines vs. East Jackson Eagles

The Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines will head out to square off against the East Jackson Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Prince Avenue Christian will be strutting in after a win while East Jackson will be coming in after a loss.

East Jackson better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Prince Avenue Christian's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Prince Avenue Christian really gets things going. The Wolverines blew past Franklin County 45-14. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Ben Musser had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 288 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.4 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 78 yards and one score on only eight carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August. Andrew Beard was another key player, gaining 141 total yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, East Jackson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The game between the Eagles and Hart County didn't end well, with the Eagles falling 21-6. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Prince Avenue Christian and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.0 points over those games. As for East Jackson, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Prince Avenue Christian against East Jackson in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 62-14 victory. In that game, the Wolverines amassed a halftime lead of 55-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
