Basketball Recap: Holmes County Takes a Loss

Holmes County lost against Freeport two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Holmes County Blue Devils took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freeport Bulldogs. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Julius Miles continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Freeport, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. Miles' evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Javaughn Voss was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points.

Holmes County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Freeport, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Holmes County has already played their next contest, a 43-38 victory against Sneads on the 28th. As for Freeport, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-67 loss against North Bay Haven Academy on the 28th.
