Basketball Game Preview: Fulton Hornets vs. Mexico Bulldogs

The Fulton Hornets will challenge the Mexico Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fulton is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Two weeks ago, Fulton came up short against Kirksville and fell 61-48. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Tigers are ranked 130th).

Meanwhile, Mexico got the win against Rockwood Summit last Saturday by a conclusive 79-59. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Mexico is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Fulton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Fulton took a serious blow against Mexico in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 69-41. Thankfully for Fulton, Dj Long (who went 12 of 21 on his way to 26 points in addition to seven assists and five boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
