Basketball Recap: Zeigler-Royalton Takes a Loss

Zeigler-Royalton lost against Christopher back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes were beaten by the Christopher Bearcats 74-41. The Tornadoes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-28.

When it comes to explaining why Zeigler-Royalton lost, don't look at River Freeman. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Freeman's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Rogers, who posted ten points along with five assists and five boards.

Zeigler-Royalton has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season. Christopher has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season.
