Baseball Game Preview: Collins Family Jaguars vs. Downtown Magnets Suns

After both having extra time off, the Collins Family Jaguars and the Downtown Magnets Suns will shake off the rust and duke it out at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Jaguars last Friday. Collins Family blew past Central City Value 17-1. Collins Family's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Diego Huerta was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Huerta was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Collins Family let Dhyan Patel and Israel Arroyo run wild. Patel scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Arroyo scored three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. David Ortiz was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Downtown Magnets had just enough and edged out Central City Value 20-18 last Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Suns.

Collins Family's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Downtown Magnets, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.
