Baseball Recap: Pen Argyl Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Pen Argyl hadn't done well against Wilson Area recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Green Knights skirted past the Warriors 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Green Knights.

The team relied heavily on Cayden Vishnesky, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Pen Argyl's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-6-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Haros, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Pen Argyl's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Wilson Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pen Argyl will face off against Moravian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Green Knights are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Wilson Area, they will take on Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
