Soccer Recap: Cumberland Academy Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Cumberland Academy was not quite Brownsboro's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell 4-2 to the Brownsboro Bears. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Cumberland Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Brownsboro, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 3-12.

Coming up, Cumberland Academy will host Athens at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Athens will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Cumberland Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brownsboro, they will head out on the road to face off against Mineola at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Mineola's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Brownsboro has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
