Basketball Recap: Shoemaker Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Shoemaker entered their tilt with Temple on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took down the Wildcats 45-30. The Wolves pushed the score to 41-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Shoemaker was led to victory by Jalaiya Johnson and Janeen Lashley-Hill. Johnson almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards, while Lashley-Hill posted 11 points and eight rebounds. That's the most rebounds Johnson has posted since back in November of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kaylee St.George, who scored six points and five boards.

Shoemaker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Shoemaker's win bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Temple, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Shoemaker will head out to face off against Copperas Cove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Temple, they will venture away from home to challenge Bryan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
