Softball Recap: Sebastian River Beats Bayside for Their Third Straight Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sebastian River had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Bayside Bears. The victory was nothing new for the Sharks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Kiera Carow made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Carow wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Layla McKinney, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Payge Hunter was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Sebastian River was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bayside only posted a batting average of .148.

Sebastian River's win bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Bayside, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

As of now, neither Sebastian River nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
