Baseball Game Preview: Exeter Township Eagles vs. Muhlenberg Muhls

The Exeter Township Eagles will square off against the Muhlenberg Muhls at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Exeter Township 3.4, Muhlenberg 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Exeter Township's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Reading 10-0. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Kamren Martin tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Jake Franek was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Carter Redding was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Exeter Township was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Reading only posted a batting average of .000.

Meanwhile, Muhlenberg didn't have quite enough to beat Daniel Boone on Wednesday and fell 5-4.

Cole Moody made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln High, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Muhlenberg's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Exeter Township, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-2.

Exeter Township might still be hurting after the 11-3 defeat they got from Muhlenberg when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
