Baseball Game Preview: J.L. Mann Patriots vs. Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers

The J.L. Mann Patriots will be taking part in a tournament against the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

J.L. Mann is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Union County. J.L. Mann was the clear victors by a 19-5 margin over Union County on Friday.

Tucker Siffri looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Ashley Shiffer was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Threlkeld, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Blue Ridge narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Boiling Springs 4-3.
