Spencer-Van Etten/Candor took a 34-point defeat the last time they faced off against Delaware Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles skirted past the Bulldogs 24-22. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 86th).
