Soccer Game Preview: Gibbs vs. Karns

The Gibbs Eagles are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge the Karns Beavers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Monday, Gibbs didn't have quite enough to beat Scott and fell 2-1. The loss put an end to Gibbs' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Karns fell victim to South-Doyle and their airtight defense two weeks ago. They came up short against the Cherokees, falling 5-0. Karns have struggled against South-Doyle recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Karns' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Gibbs, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Gibbs beat Karns by a goal in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gibbs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
