Basketball Game Preview: Edgemont Moguls vs. Morrill Lions

Edgemont hasn't had much luck against Morrill recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Edgemont Moguls will square off against the Morrill Lions at 5:00 p.m.

Edgemont saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 54-36 bruising from Faith.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Morrill). They blew past Minatare 70-40 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on five straight.

Morrill's win came from a few key players Edgemont will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ashwin Pittman, who shot 4-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyler Fisher, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 17 points and six boards.

Morrill was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Morrill pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.2 points. As for Edgemont, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Edgemont might still be hurting after the 63-39 defeat they got from Morrill in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Edgemont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
