Basketball Game Preview: Grovetown Warriors vs. Newton Rams

The Grovetown Warriors will head out to take on the Newton Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grovetown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season.

Grovetown is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenbrier.

The losing side was boosted by Amare Pryce, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Curry, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Newton faced Grayson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Newton took a 72-56 bruising from Grayson. Newton's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Newton's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-5. As for Grovetown, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Grovetown came up short against Newton in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 67-61. Can Grovetown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
