            Baseball Recap: Chambersburg Trojans vs. Cumberland Valley Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Carlisle  last Wednesday, Chambersburg came back down to earth. Chambersburg fell just short of the Cumberland Valley Eagles by a score of  8-7 on Monday. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.
 W Martin was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Martin was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  E Brown was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  K Barclay, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Chambersburg now  has a losing record of 1-2. As for Cumberland Valley, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Chambersburg is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Central Dauphin  at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cumberland Valley will  take on  rival Cedar Cliff  at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday.
