Baseball Game Preview: Pomperaug Panthers vs. Stratford Red Devils

The Pomperaug Panthers will take on the Stratford Red Devils at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Pomperaug's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Stratford has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Pomperaug came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Bethel, falling 10-1.

Andrew Brocksmith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Notre Dame Prep hit Stratford with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 8-7.

Pomperaug's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Stratford, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1.

Everything went Pomperaug's way against Stratford in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Pomperaug made off with a 7-1 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
