Football Game Preview: Rosebud-Lott Cougars vs. Marlin Bulldogs

The Rosebud-Lott Cougars will head out to take on the Marlin Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rosebud-Lott is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Rosebud-Lott's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Bruceville-Eddy, posting a 48-0 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 24 points or more this season.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Rosebud-Lott, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Daniel Rincon, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Marlin didn't have too much trouble with Riesel on Thursday as they won 28-12. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.

Rosebud-Lott's record is now 7-1. As for Marlin, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-6.

Rosebud-Lott took a serious blow against Marlin in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 46-15. Thankfully for the Cougars, Roderick Suiters (who rushed for 102 yards and two scores on only nine carries, and also threw for 184 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
