Softball Recap: Munster Wins Going Away Against Kankakee Valley

After only one run in their last match, Munster made sure to put some runs up on the board against Kankakee Valley on Monday. The Mustangs blew past the Kougars 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Kougars: they've now won eight in a row.

Ally Compton spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Caroline Wendlinger was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Milania Munoz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Munster was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kankakee Valley only posted a batting average of .056.

Munster's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Kankakee Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
