Softball Recap: Fox Valley Lutheran Has No Trouble Against Marinette

It's playoff time, and Fox Valley Lutheran had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Marinette Marines on Tuesday. Considering the Foxes have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Babcock was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since May 2nd.

In other batting news, Natalie Bromm was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 12 games. Another player making a difference was Paige Leavitt, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Fox Valley Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Fox Valley Lutheran's record is now 25-0. As for Marinette, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.
