Baseball Recap: Columbia Falls Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Columbia Falls had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Polson Pirates. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in March.

Nico Young made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jory Hill was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
