Baseball Recap: Northwest Takes a Loss

If Northwest was feeling good fresh off their 11-0 takedown of St. Joseph's - Plaucheville last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders lost 12-2 to the Beau Chene Gators on Monday. The Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Gators from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Brayden Batiste was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was C. Malveaux, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Northwest has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 18 of their last 22 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-25 record this season. As for Beau Chene, they pushed their record up to 13-17 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

While Northwest had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
