Baseball Recap: Ballston Spa Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Ballston Spa and West Genesee squared off in some playoff action on Sunday, but Ballston Spa had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 5-4.

Jameson Hotaling was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Luigi Fiorini made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of James Haughton, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Ballston Spa's loss dropped their record down to 19-4. As for West Genesee, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-1.

As of now, neither Ballston Spa nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
