Basketball Recap: Roane County Takes a Loss

Roane County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Hoover Huskies, falling 81-40. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-44 back in December of 2024.

Hoover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Donovan Brown, who posted 29 points. That's the most points Brown has posted since back in February of 2024. Dane Hatfield was another key player, putting up 27 points.

Roane County's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Hoover, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roane County will square off against Scott at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hoover, they will face off against Winfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hoover is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.1 points per game this season.
