Softball Recap: Oberlin Fightin Tigers vs. Northwest Raiders
Oberlin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 21-11 to the Northwest Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-14 back in March.
Ashlyn Jefferson and Rylee McCleon did some serious damage despite the final result: Jefferson got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while McCleon went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that Jefferson has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Amber Manuel, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Oberlin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Northwest, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
Coming up, Oberlin will venture away from home to challenge Hackberry at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northwest, they will welcome Avoyelles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
