Preview: Leonia Lions vs. Dwight-Englewood Bulldogs
Leonia is 1-9 against Dwight-Englewood since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Leonia Lions will head out on the road to take on the Dwight-Englewood Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Leonia is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
Even though Leonia has not done well against Elmwood Park recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Leonia narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Elmwood Park 41-39.
Meanwhile, Dwight-Englewood suffered a tough 46-20 defeat at the hands of Butler last Wednesday. Dwight-Englewood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leonia's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Dwight-Englewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
Everything came up roses for Leonia against Dwight-Englewood in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 48-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Leonia since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
