Preview: Briarwood Christian Lions vs. Pleasant Grove Spartans
Briarwood Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Pleasant Grove Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pleasant Grove took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Briarwood Christian, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Briarwood Christian beat Sylacauga 48-40.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their third straight loss. They fell 53-43 to Parker. While losing is never fun, Pleasant Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Parker is ranked 50th).
Briarwood Christian now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Pleasant Grove, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Briarwood Christian came up short against Pleasant Grove in their previous matchup back in January of 2018, falling 47-35. Can Briarwood Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
