Basketball Game Preview: Clear Creek Wildcats vs. Deer Park Deer

Clear Creek and Deer Park are an even 3-3 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. The Clear Creek Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Deer Park Deer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Clear Creek will head out to face Deer Park after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. Clear Creek took a hard 62-45 fall against Dickinson. The game was a 26-26 toss-up at halftime, but the Wildcats couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Deer Park entered their tilt with Clear Falls on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Knights by a score of 44-36. That's two games straight that the Deer have won by exactly eight points.

Clear Creek better keep an eye on Shelby Tortorici. She was instrumental in Deer Park's win, going 6 for 10from beyond the arc on her way to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Tortorici has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Harms, who posted nine points.

Deer Park is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Clear Creek, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-3.

Clear Creek came up short against Deer Park in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, falling 52-48. Can Clear Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
