Basketball Recap: Walden Grove Skates Past Desert View with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Walden Grove). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Desert View Jaguars 67-24. With that win, the Red Wolves brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walden Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maria-Isa Saez Pedraza, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals. With that strong performance, Saez Pedraza is now averaging an impressive 2.8 steals per game. Angel Amarillas was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Despite the loss, Desert View still got an impressive performance from Solana Celaya, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Walden Grove is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.8 points. As for Desert View, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Walden Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-40 victory against Amphitheater on the 6th. As for Desert View, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Desert View Jaguars challenge the Casa Grande Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Desert View is facing Casa Grande at the right time seeing as Casa Grande is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
