Preview: Lincoln Cardinals vs. Warsaw Wildcats
Lincoln is 8-2 against Warsaw since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Lincoln Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Warsaw Wildcats at 9:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Lincoln had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 53-43 to Knob Noster. Lincoln has struggled against Knob Noster recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Warsaw had to suffer through a rough 79-47 loss at the hands of Weaubleau. Warsaw was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-20.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Logan Gemes, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds. He scored a full 25.5% of Warsaw's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Garrett Ferguson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Warsaw, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Lincoln against Warsaw when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 47-19 win. Does Lincoln have another victory up their sleeve, or will Warsaw turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
