Baseball Recap: Cordova Wins Going Away Against Kennedy

Cordova's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Kennedy Cougars with a sharp 13-3 win. The Lancers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26th (when they won 14-3).

Nathan Tran made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Cordova is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 9-11-1 otherwise. Tran was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Nathaniel Jones was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chicago Bush, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Cordova's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-11-1. As for Kennedy, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-21.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cordova is set to square off against their familiar foe Grant at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kennedy will take on rival McClatchy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
