6A Central Valley recap Oct. 31, 2012
West Salem extended the longest winning streak in 6A Central Valley this week by beating McNary, 24-20. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Sprague took down McKay 63-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jon Schaub threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Jaylynn Bailey was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 191 yards as South Salem fell to West Salem. Teammate Joshua Benton added to the ground attack by rushing for 44 yards.
Bond was the best wideout in the league this week as McNary lost to Shawn Stanley's team. Bond tallied six receptions for 114 yards. Garrett Hittner helped McNary's passing attack out by catching four balls for 79 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Hayden Gosling of Isaac Parker's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1618. He has also thrown 10 touchdowns. On the ground, the Saxons' Bailey has rushed for 1392 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nicholas Moran. The Sprague star has 29 catches for 548 yards.
The Olympians led the league in scoring this week after putting up 63 points on the Scots. Schaub in the win.
