Recap: Potomac Wolverines vs. Friendly Patriots

This season hasn't been kind to the Potomac Wolverines, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They were dealt a 77-0 loss at the hands of Friendly on Thursday. That was the first shutout Potomac has experienced all season.

Friendly was led to victory by Jasmine Germany and Neveah Scott. Germany scored 28 points along with six steals, while Scott scored 21 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scott has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sanaa Thomas, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds.

Potomac bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.8 points per game. As for Friendly, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-6.

Potomac will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Crossland on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Crossland is ranked 238th, while Potomac is ranked 252nd). As for Friendly, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Surrattsville at 6:00 p.m.
