Soccer Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Las Lomas

Las Lomas won the last time they faced Campolindo and things went their way on Thursday too. The Las Lomas Knights narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Campolindo Cougars 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Cougars are ranked 108th).

Jackson Plant and Kareem Mahmoud scored both of Las Lomas' goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Las Lomas now has a winning record of 6-5-3. As for Campolindo, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Las Lomas wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Livermore on the 25th. As for Campolindo, they will face off against Northgate at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Campolindo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.
